QuickBooks for Mac uses a different code base than the other accounting systems that our FinancialLink works with. As such, Finagraph is unable to read files directly from Mac computers. There are, however, a number of workarounds available.
- The first option, often used when working with an Accountant, is a process known as "Round Tripping." Round Tripping is a term used for the process of sending a QuickBooks for Mac file to an accountant with QuickBooks for Windows. Essentially, QuickBooks for Mac users can save a copy of their company file in a format that QuickBooks for Windows can read. Once imported into QuickBooks for Windows, you can create your Finagraph! For more information on the Round Tripping process, please review this article from Intuit QuickBooks Support.
- Intuit offers a 30 day trial of QuickBooks Online. You can create a new account for QuickBooks Online and then upload your company to the new account and then select QBO as your accounting system in Finagraph. For more information about uploading QuickBooks for Mac data into QuickBooks Online, please review this article from Intuit QuickBooks Support.
- The last option for creating a Finagraph report from QuickBooks for Mac, is to use our Excel Template to import a selection of summarized Balance Sheets and Income Statements. For more information, please review our Help Center article.
The Excel import is also an option for BBC Easy. This video will help walk you through the process.
